(Senior) Shopify Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and innovative Shopify Developer to join our growing development team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating custom Shopify apps, plugins, themes, templates, and reusable components that help merchants improve their e-commerce experiences and grow their businesses.

You will work on developing scalable and high-quality Shopify solutions, from custom functionality and app integrations to flexible themes and reusable templates. You will collaborate closely with design, SEO, marketing, and development teams to build products that are technically robust, user-friendly, and optimized for performance.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with the Shopify ecosystem, a solid understanding of modern web development, and a passion for building reusable solutions that can be used across multiple Shopify stores and projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop custom Shopify apps, plugins, and features to extend and enhance Shopify functionality
• Build, customize, and maintain Shopify themes and reusable templates
• Develop flexible and scalable theme sections, blocks, components, and templates using Shopify Liquid
• Create reusable Shopify solutions that can be adapted and deployed across multiple stores and projects
• Develop custom functionality using Shopify APIs, webhooks, and third-party integrations
• Build and maintain Shopify app functionality using REST APIs, GraphQL, and Shopify’s development tools
• Create integrations with external platforms, services, and APIs
• Develop custom Shopify extensions and functionality to improve merchant and customer experiences
• Build responsive, mobile-first, and high-performance Shopify themes and templates
• Translate UI/UX designs into clean, reusable, and maintainable Shopify components
• Optimize themes, templates, and apps for performance, scalability, and Core Web Vitals
• Ensure developed solutions follow Shopify development standards, best practices, and platform requirements
• Implement technical SEO best practices within Shopify themes and templates, including structured data, metadata, URL structures, and internal linking
• Troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing Shopify apps, plugins, themes, and custom functionality
• Conduct testing and quality assurance to ensure reliable functionality across different devices and browsers
• Maintain clean, well-structured, documented, and reusable code
• Stay up to date with Shopify platform updates, APIs, development tools, and emerging e-commerce technologies
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, SEO, Design, UX/UI, Product, and Engineering teams

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in Shopify development, app development, theme development, or a related field
• Strong hands-on experience with Shopify and the Shopify ecosystem
• Advanced knowledge of Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Strong experience creating custom Shopify themes, templates, sections, blocks, and reusable components
• Experience developing Shopify apps, plugins, or custom functionality
• Strong understanding of Shopify APIs, including REST API and GraphQL
• Experience working with Shopify webhooks and third-party API integrations
• Understanding of Shopify theme architecture and Online Store 2.0
• Strong understanding of responsive design, mobile-first development, and cross-browser compatibility
• Experience with Git and modern development workflows
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Understanding of website performance, Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, and web accessibility
• Ability to write clean, scalable, reusable, and maintainable code
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and a product-oriented mindset
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Nice to Have

• Experience developing and publishing Shopify apps on the Shopify App Store
• Experience working with Shopify Plus
• Experience with Shopify Functions, Checkout Extensions, and Shopify App Extensions
• Experience developing headless Shopify solutions
• Knowledge of React, Next.js, TypeScript, or other modern JavaScript frameworks
• Experience with Shopify Hydrogen and Oxygen
• Experience building and maintaining commercial Shopify themes or templates
• Experience creating reusable design systems and component libraries
• Knowledge of Shopify CLI and modern Shopify development workflows
• Experience with international and multilingual Shopify stores
• Knowledge of technical SEO and experience building SEO-friendly Shopify themes
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern deployment workflows
• Experience working with large-scale e-commerce projects and reusable Shopify solutions
